  • The Colorado State Fair is seeking an enthusiastic individual for a Horse Show Secretary. Position duties include, but are not limited to:
  •  Answer incoming phone calls that come to the Horse Show Office
  • Utilize and communicate to exhibitors the show requirements set forth in the Premium Book
  • Perform daily office tasks such as filing, reporting, operating a copy machine, cleaning the office, taking out trash, restocking supplies 
  • Properly adhere to the Horse Show Department Entry Process Procedures as set forth by the Horse Show Manager during orientation
  • Utilize basic computer skills to create documents and spreadsheets using Microsoft Office or Google Suite
  • Assist in setting up arenas as needed
  • Hang signs on stall doors for exhibitors
  • Assist the Horse Show computer entry clerk with any duties as needed including filing, computing results, accounting, proofing show documents, and processing premium checks
 
The employee must also be able and willing to:
  • Sit or stand for long hours inside or outside
  • Lift up to 20 lbs occasionally
  • Work flexible hours. Some days may be longer than 8 hours or shorter than 6 hours
  • Work very early mornings and late nights if needed
  • Work in dust, dirt, heat, rain, or cold weather
  • Work around horses, dogs, or mules/donkeys
  • Work around shavings and hay
