Things to Know
- Internet connections on the grounds could sometimes be weaker during the Fair, and you may need help downloading your mobile ticket. We highly recommend printing your tickets or saving a screenshot before arriving at the fair to ensure a smooth and stress-free entry.
- Please arrive at least 90 minutes before the show as long lines may occur.
- Please note that tickets purchased from August 23 onwards DO NOT include fair admission.
About the Venues
- This is an indoor arena.
- Sections 1-6 are floor level and metal chairs without arms.
- Sections 103 – 119 are elevated riser seating and metal chairs without arms.
- Sections 201 – 221 are elevated mezzanine seating and contoured plastic chairs with arms.
- Kids aged four and under are free when accompanied by an adult, but they must sit on the adult’s lap.
- Several concession stands serve food and beverages.
BIG R Arena
- This is an outdoor arena.
- Sections A-G are general admission bench seating and are covered.
- Sections H-P are general admission bleachers and are not covered.
- Box Seats are reserved, and a minimum of six seats must be purchased.
- Kids aged four and under are free when accompanied by an adult, but they must sit on the adult’s lap.
- After the rodeo, patrons may leave the seating areas and move to the dirt arena for the concert.
- Several concession stands serve food and beverages.
PRCA Rodeo Shows
The Professional Rodeo Cowboys Association (PRCA) rodeo is a key highlight, spanning several days with a combination of thrilling rodeo events and live musical performances. The music lineup includes Shane Smith & the Saints, Scotty McCreery, and Lonestar. You’ll also enjoy free admission to the fair with purchase of any of these three concert tickets, through August 22nd.
Shane Smith & the Saints – Friday, August 23, Rodeo at 7 PM, Concert at 9:30 PM
Shane Smith and the Saints, an Austin-based band, blends American roots music with elements of rock and folk, creating a distinctive sound that has matured through extensive live performances and a close connection with their audience. Their fourth album, “Norther,” encapsulates this journey with a diverse track list that captures the band’s dynamic live energy and broad musical influences. The album, celebrated for its eclectic mix and deep narrative, marks a significant point in the band’s career, showcasing their evolution and the strong relationships they have forged with their fans over a decade of touring.
Scotty McCreery – Saturday, August 24, Rodeo at 7 PM, Concert at 9:30 PM
Scotty McCreery, winner of “American Idol” season 10, has made significant strides in country music with albums like “Same Truck,” which features Gold-certified singles such as “You Time” and “Damn Strait.” His previous album, “Seasons Change,” also achieved notable success, debuting at No. 1 on the Billboard Country Album chart and producing three No. 1 singles, including the Double Platinum “Five More Minutes.” Beyond his music career, McCreery has authored a book and inspired a Hallmark movie, demonstrating his influence in both music and popular culture.
Lonestar – Sunday, August 25, Rodeo at 5 PM, Concert at 7:30 PM
Lonestar, an American country music group formed in 1992. Originally composed of Richie McDonald, Michael Britt, Keech Rainwater, Dean Sams, and John Rich (the latter left the group in 1998), the band is known for blending country music with strong elements of pop and rock. They achieved significant popularity in the late 1990s and early 2000s with hits like “Amazed,” which topped both the country and Billboard Hot 100 charts. Lonestar is renowned for their strong melodies, harmonious vocals, and engaging live performances.
Evening of Icons
The “Evening of Icons” with The Commodores and The Spinners on Thursday, August 29, features celebrated acts from the golden era of music. You’ll also enjoy free admission to the Fair with purchase of any of these three concert tickets, through August 22nd. Take a nostalgic trip down memory lane at the Colorado State Fair.
The Commodores – Thursday, August 29, at 7 PM
The Commodores are an iconic American funk and soul band that achieved major success in the 1970s and 1980s. Originally formed as a group of students at Tuskegee University in Alabama, they signed with Motown Records and rose to fame with hits like “Brick House,” “Easy,” and “Three Times a Lady.” Known for their catchy grooves and smooth ballads, the Commodores were instrumental in defining the sound of Motown in the latter part of the label’s hit-making era. The band’s lineup has changed over the years, with Lionel Richie, one of their most famous members, pursuing a highly successful solo career in the early 1980s.
The Spinners – Thursday, August 29, at 7 PM
The Spinners, also known as the Detroit Spinners or the Motown Spinners, are a legendary American R&B vocal group that formed in Detroit, Michigan, in 1954. They became highly popular in the 1970s with a string of hit singles that featured a sophisticated blend of soulful vocals and lush orchestrations. Known for classics like “I’ll Be Around,” “Could It Be I’m Falling in Love,” and “Rubberband Man,” the Spinners’ music has had a lasting influence on the R&B and soul genres. Their distinctive sound is marked by tight harmonies and dynamic lead vocals, helping them to achieve multiple gold records and Grammy nominations throughout their long career.

Trace Adkins with special guest Cody Cozz – Friday, August 30, at 7 PM
Trace Adkins has had a notable 25-year career in country music, selling over 11 million albums and charting over 20 singles, alongside earning numerous awards and Grammy nominations. Known for his dynamic baritone and high-energy performances, Adkins is also a Grand Ole Opry member and has ventured into acting in film and TV. His latest project, “The Way I Wanna Go,” marks the silver anniversary of his debut, featuring collaborations with artists like Blake Shelton and Melissa Etheridge, continuing his tradition of blending classic country with modern flair.
Cody Cozz (Trace Adkins Concert) – Friday, August 30, at 7 PM
Cody Cozz, a Nashville-based country artist from Pueblo, Colorado, who gained recognition after signing with Grindstone Records and releasing his debut single “On My Way” in 2022. His music, which blends personal experiences with universal themes, has received airplay on over 175 radio stations across the U.S. and he has opened for several notable country music stars.
Ludacris – Saturday, August 31, at 7 PM
Chris “Ludacris” Bridges has carved out a significant presence in the music industry with over 24 million albums sold worldwide, marked by a series of hits and creative music videos that pushed the boundaries of rap aesthetics. His artistic versatility also shines in his acting career, notably through his recurring role as “Tej” in the “Fast & Furious” series, with his latest film appearance scheduled for 2023. Beyond entertainment, Ludacris has ventured into education with “KidNation” and the successful animated series “Karma’s World,” and maintains active engagement in philanthropy through The Ludacris Foundation, focusing on youth and food security.
Mike Jones (Ludacris Concert) – Saturday, August 31, at 7 PM
Mike Jones is a Hip-Hop/R&b artist straight out of Houston, Texas whose debut sold 3x Multi-Platinum. A man who shows & proves when it comes to the term “90% Grind, 10% Sleep” and other motivational quotes he uses and gives off to show motivation to his supporters, as it also shows us how he practices what he preaches.
Celebracion De Los Charros with Banda El Recodo – Sunday, September 1, at 9:30 PM
Banda El Recodo, a pioneering Mexican banda group established in 1938 in Mazatlán, Sinaloa, Mexico. Known for its significant role in popularizing the banda genre both in Mexico and internationally, Banda El Recodo has a rich musical heritage that spans various Mexican music styles, under the continuous leadership of the Lizárraga family.
